Story:
Harra watched as the alert dog took in his new surroundings. She had picked Ghost up from a Kuvasz breeder in Michigan four days earlier. They had decided to stay in a hotel for a few days so they could show him at the Day Break Valley 90 Day Conformation Trial prior to taking him back to the Nothwest. She was lucky to have been able to acquire the two year old male. He was a stunning representative of the breed. He had a beautiful head, nice bone, good coat, and he was sound coming and going. He was reserved and quiet as far as dogs went, but had a commanding presence. Harra had spent a good deal of time working with Ghost in the past four days. They had worked on stacking, gaiting and jumping in preparation for later today. His previous owners had shown him a couple of times before so it wasn’t all new to him. He hand stacked nicely and stayed reasonably well. He hadn’t been taught to freestack yet, so they spent some time on that. Ghost is food motivated, but not overly so. If you are patient and give him time to think and process what he is doing/what you are asking he learns fairly quickly. The trick with him, like so many other Kuvasz, is convincing him of why he needs to do it. If anything he tends to over think a little. Thankfully, he likes the dog show game and doesn’t mind showing off a little.
